Question
I was thinking of taking my family to Paris for a 10-day vacation at the end of June. I have 180,000 Avion points, but there seems to be no sense in converting them to BA or AA points -- I phoned BA and they have no seats available at that time for point redemptions and I imagine it's the same for AA. Now, I can still buy tickets using Avion points, but at 65,000 points per person I'm a bit short and so I'd have to pay for one ticket (it's me, my wife, and our 4-year-old daughter). OK, the questions I have:
1. If I book a flight using my RBC points, do I get to choose the airline? If I do, what would you recommend from Toronto to Paris?
2. Any pointers on accomodations in Paris? Maybe an apartment rental would make sense? Should I look at Priceline?
3. Besides visiting Disneyland Paris, any recommendations for kiddie things to do? I know it sounds weird to go to Europe for Disney, but why not make a vacation that everyone will enjoy in some way?

Answer
With avion, you can use any airline. Do some pricing/shecdule research yourself before you call RBC to book. (Remember that there is a max ticket price, so you don't want to go over that - $1300?).
One good thing about using avion points is that you can earn frequent flier points when you fly on their awards, so you might want to consider that when selecting an airline.
Sorry I can't help with your other questions.
