With regard to rewards they're ok, I still use AMEX Starwood as my primary card, though. I just don't like expiration dates on my rewards.

How are you defining good? And what kind of MBNA card are you looking at? They offer quite a few different cards. I had a non-rewards MBNA card a few years back, and was perfectly happy with it.

I find MBNA customer service to be good, and credit limits pretty generous.

I have a much better opinion of them than I did 5 years ago. I went from wouldn't have one to very satisfied with the Lufthansa Visa.

I have the MBNA World Points card and the only thing I have ever used it for is 0% interest balance transfer deals which are sweet.
They continually offer $50 balance transfers for a year of $15/month payments to transfer my 20K limit. It's just too good a deal to pass up.
I always try to get them to up my limit but they never do.
Customer service has been great.

Extremely helpful with an invalid charge situation (from Lufthansa, of all companies) and when asked to waive a late fee due to a postal problem.
