I called today to lower my APR. They did and gave me 1000 bonus miles for calling today. The downside, all cash advances (for all card holders) are going to be 19.99! I dont use that option, but for those who do :(

Why did they give you the 1000 miles for calling today? Is it a special promotion just for calling in? Or do you also have to ask about lowering APR?
I just got a UA MP Visa a week ago. If I called in and asked about lowering APR, will they automatically offer me 1000 free miles? Or do I have to ask for the miles explicitly?
