Question
Has anyone else gotten info on the New Everyday Rewards Cashback card from National City? Seems like an okay deal if you just use it for everyday purchases. This is the rebate roundup:
4% on ALL gasoline purchases
3% on ALL utilities (phone, electric, cable, etc.)
2% on ALL groceries and Restaurants/Fast Food
1% on ALL Home Improvement
0.25% on ALL else
So as long as you don't use the ALL else category it seems like a higher cash back rate then most other cards.
Any Thoughts or better options?
Answer
Does this card have an annual fee? The AAA Visa offers 5% cash back on all pay-at-pump gas purchases. 3% on utilities is nice, but neither my gas or electric company permit credit card payments. 2% on groceries and restaurants is very good. Worth considering for that alone.
Answer
So new its not on their website. Got link ?

Answer
I did receive the offer and went for it because it also has a 9.9% fixed rate on purchases, BTs, and cash advances. There's no balance transfer or annual fee either. Too bad you have to wait till the end of the year to get the rebate, but the cashback is very good.

This might be a good one to use as a backup to something like the SPG Amex. Most of my big spending items in the "all else" category would be stuff like travel - places that would take the SPG Amex. The higher-yielding rewards are in categories that sometimes don't take Amex, so it could be a nice fit.
I do too much other spending in the "all else" category to make this my primary card.
