Question
I hear a lot about *wood cc. I have a UA bank one visa, should I consider switching? At the moment I dont stay in hotels often, but that might change in the future. Should I consider having both or would that be counter productive. I spend about 2K a month on the card which ends up being the same in miles on UA.

Only downside would be if you want to use the SPG Amex to generate UA miles. UA is one of the few airlines that converts 2:1 (SPG -> miles) instead of 1:1.
SPG is a nice card to have if you want some diversity and the ability to convert into many programs from one source. (And it's obviously a good card if you want to start using Starwood's hotels.)

Downside is lower acceptance of Amex. If you use your card mostly for travel - i.e. hotels and flights that's not an issue but for more mundane purchases, Visa/MasterCard have higher usability
