Question
Posted this in another thread and thought maybe it could use it's own topic. It's a free credit report and FICO score from equifax.

EDITED to add: This is a contest that Household is running called "Your Credit Counts Challenge". If you feel more comfortable you can go to their webpage and link through to it, the above link is just the direct link to the contest.
Mods, if this is the wrong forum please move. Seemed like the best one to me.

Answer
Thanks. I used it and got a thorough, comprehensive read-out of my score and detailed information regarding status, etc.
And, the price was right, and you can access the info for one month, ALL FREE.
However, you do have to provide personal info so they can find you in their files.

Are you sure that this is not fraud (to get all your information)? Look at the link address ... Edelman or so!?!

The site owned by Household bank and after you take the quiz and enter the sweepstake, you are taken to Equifax's site.

I just used the above and was able to get a free Equifax credit report. It appears to be legit.

I got to the point where I wanted to see my score and when I clicked on it the link and almost all other windows I had open disappeared. I re-logged on to Flyertalk and went through this thread to get back to where it was, and then there is no way to enter you account, etc. I.e., you have to go through the whole process from the start.
Kinda scary if you ask me. I still don't know what my score is.
Answer
i got the closing windows problem too, but it just seems to be a browser glitch. Did it again, and it came through fine. It appears to be completely legit.
also, they give you a username/password that should allow you to get back to where you were without starting from the beginning.

Answer
This is a legit deal. Household is just giving the credit report free when you sign up for their contest.
If you go the household main page you can link through to the same contest page. I just gave the direct link.
Don't do it if you don't feel comfortable, but this is pretty legit.
Answer
If you live in any of the following states, you can get your credit report for FREE from Equifax, Transunion, and Experian. (This is because the following states have mandated by law that you must be allowed free copies yearly). Note: The don't give it free if you want instant online access, you must call their automated system and they mail it to you. I would do all three as they can contain different information.
Colorado
Georgia
Maine
Maryland
Massachusetts
New Jersey
Vermont
TransUnion 800-888-4213
Equifax 800-685-1111
Experian 888 397 3742
