Question
I know this has been discussed before, but I've never gotten a definitive answer.
I got a BA Visa card and 10K miles. The annual fee was listed as $75, but it won't be billed until the end of the year. Can I assume this means that the card is free the first year?
If this is so, does that mean I can cancel the card before the year is up and owe nothing?
I am setting up other people to sign up for the card strictly to get the bonus. I want to be able to tell them that they can cancel the card after a couple of months and they will owe nothing andthat they won't come after them and reclaim the miles.
Is all this true?
Answer
I assume you are talking about the FirstUSA BA card.
YES, you can get the card, get 10,000 miles, cancel the card after a couple of month, pay nothing and keep the miles.
