My fiancee just received an American Airlines promotion to open a Gold AAdvantage World MasterCard.
On the example of ways to get miles, it lists a balance transfer of $2750 for 2,750 miles.
Is this a promo thing only or have they changed the rules about getting miles for transfers?

Must be a promo thing...both US Bank (NWA Visa) and Chase (CO MC) don't offer miles on transfers

AladyNCal, Did this promotion have a telephone number or code. There was previously some discussion about this on the AA board. Some months ago I had a telephone number which Citibank/AA gave me to call for a 10,000-mile signup bonus. I recently tried a CSR at Citibank/AA and she knew nothing about a 10,000-mile signup bonus or balance transfers, let alone receiving miles for balance transfers. Thanks
