Question
Hi All,
I have the Citibank AAdvantage MC and just got my annual $50 fee this month. I have been a great customer for over 5 years. Does anybody have experience with them waiving the fee?
When I called and told them I wanted to cancel (not worth the $50 when I already use the United Visa) they offered me the Diamond Preferred card. From reading another thread here, 35,000 miles for a domestic ticket = not worth it even if it's free (I would rather use the United card).
Any chance they will offer waiving the AA fee or is the Diamond card the only option they have to give?
Answer
wbflyer, there are several threads on the American Airlines board specific to the Citbank AAdvantage credit card. It may help to do a search there about what they'll offer to stay. Posters have mentioned a $25 bill credit; 2,000-5,000 miles; and other stuff.
