Question
I have two credit cards with Fleet that I would like to consolidate into one account. Ive done this in the past with many other banks without problems, but called Fleet the other day to do the same without luck. I was told that Fleet does not do that. Any experiences?
Thanks.
Answer
Fleet took over Bank Boston, and since then the service has deterriorated. Not a bank I would do business with. Bank Boston (in it's heyday) would have helped you out.
I'm gussing it's because their computer systems don't allow it (so there is no way around that), but you know you would not have that problem at Citibank or Amex (my two favorites)
You could threaten to close one of the accounts if they won't do it, and see what they say. Any good bank will try to help you.
Answer
Good idea, I will try to use the closing of accounts threat... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/thumbsup.gif
Answer
Called and used the close account tactic. Didnt work. I cancelled the account.
Answer
Good for you. I lived in Boston for many years (and went to school there as well). Fleet Bank is useless. We call them "Bleed Bank" not Fleet Bank because they suck you dry with fees.
I stuck with Citibank for all those years that I was there and got cash through Cash back at merchants. Worth it..
