I heard mention of the "Freedom Mastercard" that earns rebates of 5% on gas purchases and 1% elsewhere. Does anyone know anything about this card? Is it tied to a particular brand of gas?

I have the Chase Freedom Mastercard. Original 5-point charter members get 5% gas rebate anywhere. I think they have dropped it to 3% for new cards. The rebate is for any brand of gas.

I've got the Freedom Card as well, replaced the Shell MC (which is now being done by Citibank) I recommend checking out the AAA card...5% back on all gas purchases, 1% on everything else, plus for a limited time, you get a 30 dollar credit...for every 5K you spend, you get a 50.00 gift cert to AAA (can be used for anything)...plus NO ANNUAL FEE...link that came in my e-mail is below..
