Bank One May Lose Millions on UA Card

Question
http://biz.yahoo.com/rb/030307/financial_bankone_united_3.html

Answer
"If UAL...does not successfully reorganize under Chapter 11 of the U.S. bankruptcy code and is liquidated...Bank One's card services unit would be hurt by the...increased marketing expense to encourage customers to continue using the card...".
It's early and I haven't had my full dose of coffee yet, but what marketing genius would spend tons of money trying to get people to keep paying an annual fee for an airline affinity card for an airline that is no longer in business?
If I ran the credit card department of another bank, I'd be trying to get my hands on Bank One's UA credit card customer list. That sucker could be a gold mine.

Answer
Bank One probably still has people from the merger with First USA..Some were not two bright...A credit card company that wants you to use the affinity card of a non-existing airline should make people stop and think. Remember, First USA was the card company that was caught holding payments past the due date to collect the late charge and increase the interest rates. They promised not to do it any more then merged with Bank One.

Answer
on a side note, I do miss the bonus miles checks First USA used to dole out evey once in awhile, double or triple miles.
