Question
If you have a GM MasterCard and just received balance transfer checks, they might be eligible for 5% in GM Card Earnings. I just received some balance transfer checks that say, "The attached checks will receive 5% in GM Card Earnings if they post to your account by May 1, 2003." Just wanted to let you know before you throw them away.

I just got mine too. my question is that it said a 3% charge, so if I wrote a $10,000 (to get to max of $500 rebates) check, do I have to pay GM card $300?
I just maxed out my $500 for the year, so this check came a month too late.
Answer
just to add one more thing, there is an extra $1000 rebate for all GM vehicles this month for California only. plus there is a current promo of $450 upromise money (instead of usual $150) next 2 months.
so if you have maxed out your gm card at $3500, extra $1000 rebate, $450 upromise money, and regular rebate like $4000 on an Avanlanch. Total saving is $8950.

That depends on the offer you got. According to my offer, no transaction fees as long as the checks post by May 1, 2003. Afterwards, the 3% cash advance fee applies and no GM earnings. Also, finance charges start accruing immediately.
