Question
As a long-time holder of a UA miles-redeeming credit card, I am wondering what would be the next-best credit card for accruing travel-related benefits? Living in Denver, no other airline's card is uniquely more attractive than any other since non hub here (yet). I'm thinking of a hotel-related card, but with Hilton recently devaluing their HHonors points, I'm not sure that's the way to go.
The ideal card would provide a nice benefit, ideally with the upside for things I normally wouldn't pay for or afford (e.g., like business & first class awards on UA). The Hilton points are just for standard rooms, so that's OK but not great. The rumored Disney card in another thread would be appealing if true.
Answer
The cards that accrue miles on UA (other than UA Visa and MC) are Diner's Club and Amtrak MC (through MBNA).
Just out of curiosity, why would you want another card that accrues miles on UA but not the UA Visa or MC?
Answer
I'm not looking for another card that accrues UA benefits. With UA's tenuous financial position, and my rather large remaining balance of mileage plus miles, I am looking to "diversify" my credit card benefits. The obvious answer is a card for a different airline, but given that we are held captive by UA's hub here at DEN, and I have no particularly primary destination, I'm not sure which airline would be next choice. So I'm open to other suggestions, airline or otherwise.
Answer
i guess the typical answer would be starwood.

I suggest you pick what type of award you want.
I chose upgraded travel to Europe. While I have a ton of miles with UA, there are several others who provide the same one-stop service to Europe. Delta is one, AA is another. I didn't consider CO since it's almost impossible to get a saver award with them.
Pick the award, then look for the program most likely to reach it with.
Answer
Lh has a new M&M card. It is with MBNA, which is not a high charge bank, usually. You could then get M&M miles on your UA flights.
If you fly C or F, M&M gives 250% and 375% miles to silver&gold.
Answer
I have had success with two primary cards: First USA MP VISA and the Starwood Amex. Those get me everywhere I want to be. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
