Just called CitiBank customer service to try to cancel my Gold AA Citi MasterCard, and they offered me 5000 bonus miles if I keep the account open.
That's another easy 5k miles.

I expected them to try to woo me back, but nothing so far. So, I'm racking up Delta miles with an Amex card.
Do you perhaps carry a significant balance with them, or some other factor that makes you a valued customer?

I spent about $17000 in about 9 months time. Maybe that resulted in 2000 more bonus miles.
