Now you can pay State Farm insurance premium with your Visa or MC. I enabled the web access on http://www.statefarm.com/ and found out credit card payment option is available. BTW, the website says the CC payment is available select states and accepts only Visa & MC.
FYI, the registration process is a pain though...

Nationwide Insurance Companies (and many others) also accept VISA & MC payments for most of their products (in various states in accordance with state regulations). The payment can be done over the phone with your agent or can be paid online after registering for access to your policies.

Only Auto or Fire Insurance counts. And, like you said, only in a few selected states.
I have State Farm, but do not fall into either of the above categories, so I'm still waiting for that day...
For those interested, I know that Allstate accepts credit cards (VISA/MC) for I think all or almost all insurance products online.

USAA has been accepting MC/Visa for auto and personal articles insurance. They haven't started accepting cc's for life insurance yet.

Add personal liability umbrella policy to the list.
Additionally, GEICO accept Visa, MC and AmEx for its auto insurance. This option is only available (?) by phone not online.

Southwestern Bell accepts credit card payments if you call in. I pay a couple of hundred dollars once every few months, when my balance is getting low.
Their credit card acceptance is designed for use by folks whose bill is overdue, so a part of SWB's canned script that you hear after you make the payment is that "collection activities against you will stop."
