Visa Infinite

Question
Does anyone have information on the Visa Infinite Card. I know that National City Bank, Chase Bank currently offer the card. Fleet elected to offer the Visa Signature Card to its Private Banking Clients.
Are there any other US banks offering the card? What are the lines of credit associated with the card?
Thanks

Answer
You heard that Chase Bank currently offers the Infinite Card? I see no information on their website and phone reps know nothing also. Where did you hear it was currently offered?

Answer
CHase offers the Infinite card by invitation only, mainly to their Private Banking Customers. If you call the Creedit Card Customer Service they should be able to at least confirm they offer the card.

Answer
I called both Chase Bank and Visa (800) VISA-911 and neither was able to provide any information about current U.S. issuing of the card. Visa did confirm it's existence and that it has higher "requirements" but was unable to provide any banks in the U.S. that offer it. As we know, National City does offer the Infinite Card - to its private clients. However, Chase has no knowledge of the card. Any other contacts at Chase with knowledge of the card?

Answer
A quick internet search found me the following:
Visa Infinite - Detailed Benefits from Visa USA
http://usa.visa.com/personal/cards/visa_infinite_benefits.html
Visa Infinite's Website for Current Card Holders
http://www.infinitecard.com/secure_entry.jsp
The only banks that I found that offer it is the National City bank already mentioned here and the Commercial Bank of Kuwait.

Interesting.
Even the "best Visa card" is still a step behind Amex premium products :
Visa Infinite : for individuals who earn over $150,000 .
Amex Centurion : for individuals who spend over $150,000 on their Amex card...

Answer
I don't see a substantive difference over Visa Signature benefits. You can't really compare this to Amex Centurion, even in snob appeal.

Answer
What's the annual fee?

Answer
For Chase, the annual fee for their Infinite Card begins at $150. It goes up dending on the level of optional benefits you chose to have. The fee may be reduced or waived if you are a Private Banking Client

Answer
Steve, I am amazed at your ability to find this information. Congrads! I called the Chase number you recommended and wasn't told anything about the card - but that Chase does have it; by invitation only. What are the different options you can add to the card? How can I get invited - i.e. do you have another number I can call? How do they check the 150K earnings requirment (it doesn't show on a credit report)? Thanks.

Answer
I called Visa back in May. At that time the reps were willing to give the Names of the Banks and their numbers that are offering the Visa Infinite Card. I got Chases number and called. They had just started offering Visa Infinite cards and the reps were willing to disclose information back then. Since May, I believe they may have change the structure of the card by not offering the tiered membership dues. As for verifying the income level, I think its just like other bank applications, they dont. However banks can generally tell ones income level by their Credit Report. If there is a need to verify income, they will call your employer or ask for verification (pay stubs or copy of tax returns)

Answer
There doesn't appear to be very much difference between this card and the Quantum Master Card issued by MBNA except they do not have an annual fee.

Any ideas on who to call to get an invitation? No one seems willing to discuss the card.

Answer
Does anyone have this card?

Answer
White Amex-
I think to get a pre approval, one either has to be a prievite banking client at the issuing bank, or have a large credit line and good payment record with the issuing bank. They try to target big spenders, so if you charge as much on a Visa as you do an your Amex you would be the perfect candidate for the Visa Infinite.
I still think that the Centurion Card is the
best

The sky is the limit with a new VISA card designed for the well heeled. National City Corp's Private Client Group introduced the VISA Infinite card in mid-Oct 2000. The VISA Infinite card, originally announced by VISA in Oct 1998, features no preset spending limit, a $20,000 minimum credit limit, a customized reward system and a premium concierge service. National City's Private Client Group VISA Infinite card allows its customers to carry a revolving balance and to choose the type of reward they prefer, for example air miles, cash back, selected merchandise, or travel. Purchases are approved based on factors such as personal resources, account history, credit and payment records. The card is available to National City Corp's Private Client Group and Sterling customers and carries a $150 annual fee. The VISA Infinite concierge service provides assistance with restaurant reservations, gift arrangements, travel information, referrals, business services, and specialty services. The card also offers security features such as travel emergency assistance, travel evacuation coverage and purchase protection. In unveiling the card in 1998, VISA said the card would be targeted at technologically savvy affluent international travelers.

National City's Private Client Group Launches New Visa(TM) Infinite Card
CLEVELAND, Oct. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The Private Client Group, a part of
Private Investment Advisors, National City Corporation's (NYSE: NCC) wealth
management group, is one of the first organizations to partner with Visa(TM)
to launch its new Visa(TM) Infinite card October 16.
The Visa(TM) Infinite card features no preset spending limit, a customized
reward system and exceptional concierge service. National City's Private
Client Group Visa(TM) Infinite card allows its customers to carry a revolving
balance and to choose the type of reward they prefer, for example air miles,
cash back, selected merchandise, or travel. Purchases are approved based on
factors such as personal resources, account history, credit and payment
records.
"The Visa(TM) Infinite card is a great way for the Private Client Group to
give its customers virtually everything they want and many services they
cannot find with any other card," said Dave Dunning, executive vice president,
Private Investment Advisors. "It gives us one card to meet all of our
customers' spending needs and reward expectations." At the same time NCC was
seeking a premium credit card product for its Private Client Group clients,
Visa(TM) was preparing to launch the Infinite card. Visa(TM) introduced the
new card to the Private Client Group and asked them to join in the card's
roll-out.
In addition to the rewards, customers will be able to use a concierge
service with personalized benefits. This service provides Infinite
cardholders assistance with restaurant reservations, gift arrangements, travel
information, referrals, business services, specialty services and more -- all
with one phone call. The card also offers security features such as travel
emergency assistance, travel evacuation coverage and purchase protection. The
card is available to National City Corporation's Private Client Group and
Sterling customers and carries a $150 annual fee.

Answer
The benefits of this card still sound a little weak.
AmEx Centurion's primary benefits (as far as I'm concerned) are the enrollments in mid and top tier elite travel programs.
Infinite, on the other hand, gets you a one time air companion voucher that's good to 100 US cities. And that's about it.
