Citi upgrade...why do I want it?

Question
My wife and I currently have multiple Citi Gold AAdvantage cards.
About once a month Citibank sends me an upgrade offer to a Citi Platinum Select World Master Card. I got four notices just yesterday.
Why would I or why would I not want to accept this offer? It doesn't seem to be better or worse than what I have today. Why does Citi want me to upgrade?

Answer
higher annual fee.

Answer
Claims the annual fee is the same: $85

Answer
Multiple cards...? Could you please elaborate? Do you mean you each have more than 1 AAdvantage card? Thanks.

Answer
Multiple cards: I have a MC and a Visa...she has a MC and a Visa.

Answer
Citibank and Mastercard worked out a great deal between the two, so Citi is trying to stop issuing Visas and move everyone over to MC.
I don't think there are really any benefits as far as customers are concerned, but the phone reps have been trained to make it sound like there are benefits galore.

Answer
Actually, the annual fee is the same. But the WorldCard does have a few extra insurance coverages and some other benefits. It may seem useless sometimes, but those who sadly lost family on 9-11 did benefit from the insurances. I think it may have better car rental insurance too.
Visa is accepted in 18 million locations but MasterCard is accepted at 24.8 million.

Answer
From a miles perspective are they the same?
Will I be able to have two MC and my wife two MC?

Answer
From a miles perspective and your ability to have more than one card they are exactly the same.
Hope this helps.
