Question
When I applied for my mplus visa, apart from the 10K points, a one class upgrade certificate was promised. I never received anything. Anybody else have to follow up on this?

I finally received my card about three weeks ago and immediately made a small purchase. I haven't yet received the 15k miles or the upgrade and discount certs. However, the text in the T&C when I applied said the following about the upgrade cert:
One-way, 1,000 mile One-class United Upgrade Certificate & $25 United Discount Travel Certificate (for travel anywhere United flies within the contiguous United States, Canada and Mexico)
Please allow 3 to 5 weeks after your first purchase for your $25 United Discount Travel Certificate and One-way, 1,000 mile One-class Upgrade Certificate to arrive. The $25 United Discount Travel Certificate and One-Class Upgrade Certificate are not combinable with other discounts or air travel certificates and are not transferable. United's One-way, 1,000 mile One-class Upgrade Certificate is valid from paid full Economy to the next class of service. Additional restrictions apply and are printed on the certificates.
I'm going to wait a few more weeks and then give them a call if it hasn't arrived.

Yes,,,,I have had to follow up on this very thing as a result of not recieving the upgrade cert. The interesting part is that my wife, who applied approximately 30 days after me (and got 10K UAL miles vs my 5K) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
recv'd her certificate approximately 30 days after 1st purchase.
I am still 'waiting' on mine. I called FUSA and talked to the CSR, who said that follow-up with the "marketing" department would be neccessary. I have not heard back yet, but its noted in my account record, and I will probably give them some more time before calling again.

I got my worthless upgrade cert last week. I say worthless because I can only use it on Y or C fares. If you're premier, that restriction does not apply... I, of course, am not premier. Therefore it's pretty close to worthless. I can't even give it away because it's got my name on it.
