Question
I am wanting to get an airline credit card in order to get some miles, and I'm leaning toward an AA visa. Any comments, suggestions, or comparisons to other airlines' cards would be appreciated.

One thing I like about AA is that all miles count towards lifetime status (let's hope this lasts with all the changes coming out).
I've had my Citi AAdvantage card (actually MasterCard) for many years and love it. Since I just move to Madrid, I actually have a Spanish issued CBAA card which earns me 1 mile per 1€ in purchases

Think about getting a Starwood AMEX, too. The points transfer to AA at 1:1.25 if made in 20K increments - well worth the $30 annual fee.
Just curious - any reason for choosing a Visa over MC? I also have a Citibank MC. As far as I know, there's not a lot of difference - am I missing something?

And, unless they have changed this recently, there is no annual fee in the first year.

No real reason, I'm just used to Visa, and most of the offers I've gotten are from Visa. As far as I know, there's no real difference.

I prefer Visa, just because Sam's club does not accept MC, but accept Visa.

I think some very rare places only accepts Visa. Also there are some good Visa Deals such as Buy.com's $10 Discount if Visa is used. Other than that...not much differences...

No difference for the consumer BIG difference for the BANK.... MC means more FEES,,,, HAVE 1 of every CC to get the best deals....

I just returned from Europe and found one place in Holland and one in Belgium that accepted Visa and did not accept MC or AmEx

Please seriously consider the Starwood Amex card. Gives you a great deal of flexibility in converting to different airlines. Also, you get a bonus of 5,000 miles for each 20,000. I have a Mastercard and a SPG Amex card. Nice pair, I think!
