Question
A friend of mine has a citibank visa card that does not have a millage cap on it. Is this possible? When i called citibank to ask about it they told me there was no such thing. My friend showed me his last quater statement from aa and it shows that citibank posted close too 100,000 miles in the last 3 months. Any idea on how to get this card btw the card says on it platium select visa on it. Is this a card they no longer isssue or has he just gotten luck that they keep posting miles to his account even if he goes over the millage cap for it.
Answer
There is no mileage cap on the Citi AA cards (any version) if the customer is an elite level AA flyer (Gold, Plat, EXP). Obviously this cap waiver depends each year on customers retaining elite status.
Citi did use to offer a Platinum VISA without a cap but the card was discontinued and most cardmembers are slowly being converted out of the product to the Platinum WorldCard (MasterCard) which only waives the cap for elites as mentioned above.

Answer
What is the cap for a non-elite member again...? Thanks.
Answer
60K/yr for non-elites
Answer
You should stick with the Visa. The AA MC DOES NOT accrue miles at 2x for AA purchases whereas the Visa does.
Answer
Does anyone know if that 60k/calendar year...or 60k/12 month period?

Non-elites who have the Platinum MC earn 100k max. I can't find any info on a Visa version so I posted the MC info
