MasterCard International on Wednesday unveiled a set of corporate charge card services aimed at medium-sized business, in a move to grab market share from American Express Co. and rival credit card network Visa U.S.A.
The initiative would allow member banks to pitch a package of products -- including online payment tracking, airline travel rewards system and cards preloaded with cash and equivalents -- to mid-market firms, or those with between 100 and 250 employees.
