Replacing an MBNA/NEA card--Anything out there that earns paid tickets not FF points?

Question
I'm a little late in replacing my MBNA card since the new rules make it stupid to continue to carry this card.
Has anyone found a new card that allows you to purchase actual tickets that are upgradeable?
For those not aware of the MBNA card, with $10k in charges, you could purchase an actual ticket on any airline on the same side of the Mississippi for up to $300. For 15K in points, you got a $500 ticket.

Answer
There is nothing that comes close to the NEA card's original redemtion rates. Those days are gone for good I'm afraid.
I am considering the travel card at www.umbrellabank.com. (http://www.umbrellabank.com.) It seems to have the best terms. One thing I hate about these programs. I have not found one yet where the points don't expire in 5 years.
One thing I like about the umbrella card is the lower level awards. You can get a $100 marriot gift cheque at 5,000 points. This can then be used at Marriott just like cash and thus earn more rewards under the marriott program.
That's the best replacement for NEA I've found so far. If anyone has more ideas....
