I've been looking over the old posts regarding the special offers that were available for a waived fee (for 1 yr) or 10k mile bonus but those no longer seem available from the links so I assume they are all expired. I have had this AA card before but have been using Fleet & GE cards the last couple years. I know Citibank often sends an offer in the mail for a free companion ticket with application for the card... do these include bonus miles also? I'd like to sign up for the card quickly so is there a way to get the companion ticket offer online? Would 5k bonus miles be better? (Obviously depends on the use of the CT). If one applies online, how soon do you have a credit card number that you can begin using?

Don't know about the bonuses, but I signed-up for the Citi World mastercard on-line in late June and had the card by late August.

Citibank's current bonus is 7,500 miles. Go through AA's website for the link.
