United Visa card

Question
Is anyone content with using the United Visa card?

Answer
I've had mine for 10 months and have been extremely happy. Shortly after I signed up, they offered a free companion fare ticket. I asked and they allowed me to change my sign up goodies. I check my balance every month on line which is very helpful. I have called them several times, and they have always been pleasant and relatively quick to answer my questions. I have never had a problem using the card any place I travel. OVerall, 2 thumbs up. (In 10 months I have charged over $20k.)

Answer
Biggest drawback is 10,000 miles per month, 50,000 mile annual limitation. Other than that, it's just an ordinary VISA card.

Answer
I am considering getting the UA VISA because of the 5000 miles sign up bonus they are offering. They sent me a promo code with my MP statement for this offer.
Are there any better offers/promotion codes available that any of you have for something like 10K miles??
Thanks! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Answer
I've had the UA card for several years. Since I've recently got other affinity cards I figured it wasn't worth paying an annual fee on this card unless they would give me an incentive to do so. I called to cancel, was transferred to the retention department. They asked me if they could do anything to keep my business. I said yes, they could waive the annual fee or give me bonus miles (I was hoping for 10,000) to continue. Then the person I spoke with said, "okay, I'll go ahead and cancel your card." I said, "Wait a minute. You asked me if you could do anything to keep my business. Why did you ask me that question if you are going to ignore my suggestions?" She explained that they couldn't make take these actions because of their agreement with United. I guess I'll focus on racking up miles with my new American card!
