Will TWA Visa/MC become Aadvantage

Question
MBNA currently issues both Visa & Mastercard that earn TWA Aviator miles. Has anyone heard if these will be either discontinued or re-issued to earn American Aadvantage miles?

Answer
Likely discontinued.
Same thing happened in Canada when Canadian Airlines was bought by Air Canada.
The original financial partner (usually also has quite some investments) in the parent company will have a strong say. In this case, Citibank is taking care of AAdvantage. Why would they open this market up for MBNA? Citi and AA probably have extended agreements on these issues already.
So what will happen is that people will get a card conversion to another MBNA... maybe another travel reward related. At the same time, Citibank will also want a piece of this pie and obtain customer lists from AA to start aggressive marketing.
So in my example of Canadian airlines industry... this fight occured bewteen Royal Bank and CIBC (Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce).

Answer
Are they still issueing the card now?
