Is there anyway to get a Citibank Visa or Mastercard and earn AAdvantage miles for someone living in Belgium?Any other cards which would give AA miles?

I just recieved a mailer promo for 10,000 bonus mails with first purchase after you get the citibank aa world mastercard,online it says 7500 miles--if you go to citibank,com in the upper right corner it says contact us or locations.I found alot of locations in belgium,so I am sure you could apply--In fact tell them there is a promo out there for 10,000 miles and try to get that,I am mulling it over,wish the offer would have waived the first years $50 fee.

I've noticed that the AA Citibank is CONSTANTLY advertised on US TV. This promotes a truckload of people to apply for the card. Granted that American is the USA's 2nd largest airline, every time I try to book using my miles, I get NO AVAILABILITY! EVERY TIME! MONTHS & MONTHS IN ADVANCE TO DIFFERENT LOCALES!.......
This leads me to conclude that ALL those millions of people are cashing in. TOOOOO much competition! This makes the card & the program UNWORTHY.
In comparison, the CHASE Continental miles & DELTA AMEX card have proved much more available for cashing one's miles.
What's the point of going with large programs when you're competing w/ too many folks? SMALLER programs that offer almost as many locales have proven better!

......Almost forgot......Since you live in Belgium, go with a European airline. British Airways offers a card with First USA (I'm sure they co-brand with a Euro bank as well). British Air offers more cities in Europe PLUS lets you fly on AMERICAN as well, since it's one of their partners.
In addition, if you fly British Air, there's NO blackout dates-- a big plus. AND you can combine your miles with your family into a "Household Account". That's unique & GREAT! I combined my miles with my wife's for a trans-continental trip.

SORRY... Hard to earn Miles in Europe through Credit Cards....
In order to get an US Mileage credit card you need a US Social Security No, which is impossible without actually living in the US
Citibank in Europe (or @ least Germany) does NOT offer Mileage cards...
I have been trying to get one through a European bank for years....
The only card I could find is some Lufthansa Credit Card and an AmericanExpress card.... But the conversion for the German Amex card sucks.... 1 Mile for every 10 DM (1 mile for every $ 5??)
I finally was able to get a credit history in the US and get a couple of mielage cards in the US.....

Actually, Citibank does offer a Citibank AAdvantage Gold Visa card in Germany.
I was at the ITB (International Travel and Tourism trade fair) in Berlin this week and they had a big booth and were annoucing the launch of the card.

The offer is 5,000 bonus miles. You earn 1 mile for every 1 Euro in spend (which at current exchange rates is slightly better than the 1 mile/ 1 US$ for the US-based card.

There are two UK cards offering AAdvantage miles: the Citibank gold Visa card (£25 a year, first year free) and the Royal Bank of Scotland gold MasterCard (£25 a year, first year £12.50 - not sure about the RBS fee).
Both offer one AA mile per £.
I thought that the Citibank card had superseded the RBS card, but I got my AAdvantage statement this week, and they were promoting the RBS card again.

The Amex MR "miles" earned in the US are different from those in Europe for instance.
The conversion rate between MR miles and airline miles is never 1 to 1 there.
Example:
French card: 1 Amex mile for 10 FRF, then 4 Amex miles for 5 Air France miles.
German card: 1 Amex mile for 10 DM (Membership Reward Classic program), or 1 for 20 DM (Membership Reward Compact program).
