HSBC United MPlus Gold Card (HK$)

Question
HSBC has this interesting credit card that has some (I think) interesting bonuses for those that fly UA C & F fares out of Hong Kong with frequence.
Details at this link: http://www.hsbc.com.hk/hk/personal/card/private/co.htm#
Exec. Summary:
- 5,000 bonus miles for activation
- 5,000 miles for each transpacific business class round trip (must be trip out of HKG, and paid with the card)
- 10,000 miles for each first class (same as above)
The card also has the regular HSBC UA mileage transfer program for all other purchases. Maybe it makes sense for some of you. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Answer
Interesting, I wonder if I can convert my current HSBC MC to the United card. Also wonder if my UA account is US based if the miles would transfer.

Answer
Yes... you can swap you card, or just get the new one and cancel the other.... (remember this card is in HK$). I was told that the location of the UA account is irrelevant.

Answer
Can one have a US adress and get the card?

Answer
Yes... they are very liberal about that in HKong. Remember, to get the special bonuses you have to buy the tickets in HKong and they must be round trips starting & ending in HKG.

Answer
Just a report on how the card works: got my activation bonus immediately, and monthly transfer to my UA Mplus account also works smoothly. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
