Typical in this day and age of 'vapor ware' to release and send out a card without any details on the exact perks that are going to be generated by the card. This new card is complete without the Canadian Plus logo but apparantly still generates 1-4-1 for Canadian Plus points (that will now be converted to Aeroplan!); but also includes the ability to 'redeem Avion Points for free flights with no blackout periods or seating limitations' - gee sounds just like AirMiles! YUCK!
They better get their act together, as I am sure I am not alone when I say that my spending on my C+Visa used to be $15k/month and has dropped to $0 - I just keep it now to see what happens to the program and have access to my very large credit line.
Amex Platinum in Canada has also lost ALL their punch with the withdrawing of Canadian from their MR program...
...so, what's left; CIBC Aerogold - you couldn't write a better business plan for a card product if you tried!
Has anybody else got additional information on the AVION card (other than the very weak info on the website and direct mailer)??
