Question
Does anyone know if insurance companies have to go with what the law is regarding a ticket? I have a ticket for not having insurance(personal vehicle) and 2 speeding tickets. A judge said that no insurance is not a moving violation, but insurance companies seem to act otherwise. Any info on this?
Answer
Many insurance companies have their own point system for evaluating an MVR. This point system is used to help them rate the exposure and establish a premium.
Some don't assess points for non-moving violations, while other do. It all depends on your insurance companies rating structure.
Consult with your agent regarding your particular insurance carrier.
