Question
Been parked for 11 months. Cancelled the insurance since the truck wasn't being driven. I plan on putting it back on the road soon. My question is this; can I get liability insurance to cover bobtailing untill I lease on to a carrier? I'm not talking commercial, as the truck would only be driven to have it serviced and to get to wherever the co. is that I lease to.
Thanks.

Answer
Sorry, I don't know of any insurance provider that will write "bobtail" (non-trucking) without the vehicle being engaged in a permanent lease with a FHWA motor carrier.
However, you can purchase primary liabilty (which is very expensive given your situation). This would provide the liability protection you need.
Don't know if that is an option for you.
Answer
I found two agents who will cover me. One wants $125 for 4 days, and the other will cover me for 7 days for $150. I might be able to tack it onto my farm policy, but its probably less trouble to get the 7 day coverage.
Answer
PUT IT ON YOUR FARM POLICY AS A SPARE!
