Is there anyone....anyone at all....that can give me an answ

Question
Here's the scenario: we have our own authority; o/o wants to lease on; o/o doesn't have the greatest driving record; we tell the agent this so she's forewarned; she obtains MVR and agrees; she tells the underwriters and most likely faxes it along w/the application; underwriter says, okay--we'll just surcharge him w/a warning; okay...we go thru the rush of getting him leased on, temp plates, paint the name on the door, etc.
NOT FIVE DAYS LATER.....I just got a call from the agent that says the underwriters heard from the insurance company, and they're going to send out a cancellation notice on the o/o for his driving record!!!!!!
Who messed up here??? Not us! We were more than honest with the agent, who was more than honest with the underwriters. Now, the guy's in mid-run, just paid out mega $$'s to bind coverage, and I have to call him up soon and tell him....guess what?!?! You've got 30 days to find another company to lease to.
Don't get on me about "why'd you hire him if he had a questionable record", either. It wasn't me who wanted to do this...I just get stuck with the paperwork and the phone calls. (I was doing my best to NOT get him hired)
What bugs me is that we're given the okay to do it, bind coverage, and then they backtrack and cancel! Since I used to be in this business, it used to happen to me, too (agents are always caught in the middle). I just want to know what gives the underwriters the right to play around with people like this? GGGGrrrrrr Ya know...why go thru the hassle of getting a driver pre-approved with the insurance company, if they're just going to send out notice anyway?

Answer
Not saying who's right or who's wrong...just a suggestion, whenever a situation is questionable get it in writing. The agent should have covered himself by getting it in writing and then once there would be a leg to stand on.
Truck insurance right now is so volatile. It is essential to get it in writing, document everything, check and double check.
I'm sorry for your frustration.
