My husband and I are starting our own business. We are going to have our own authority and get our own loads. We have a '93 Volvo and a 9 car trailer. I have looked into the insurance aspect and have been told that it could take up to 45 days to get the ins. started. Is this true? We need insurance asap. Any info. on the starting of this business is greatly appreciated.

The 45 days may or may not be accurate depending on what you include in that time. Once all the information has been provided to the insurance company and a quotation is provided, it's all up to you. The down payment is required to bind the coverage and filings are usually done electronically. If you have already made application for the authority and have your MC #, you should get started on the insurance ASAP.
