Question
Seems silly I pay all that money for insurance on my big truck yet I still have to pay insurance on my pickup that sits while I'm gone.
Must be some way to insure my pickup just for the time I use it.
Is'nt there an insurance company that understands tucking and will do this?
Don't do the crime if you can't pay the price
Answer
There's no problem with understanding that you can only use one vehicle at a time, but there are other considerations. For example, do you have a loan on the pickup? How does your bank feel about it being insured "only" when you drive it?
What if...a tornado came through while you were o the road and dump a tree on the truck? Would you want the insurance company to pay for the damage?
Or let's say, your 5 year old nephew was playing in the yard while your sister was inside checking on the mail and things and the parking brake malfunctioned and ran over him. Would you want the insurance to respond to his medical bills?
I know how difficult it is to pay premium for a vehicle that sits while you're on the road, but unless you can afford the types of disasters that can befall all of us, you need to consider which is the lesser of two evils.
Insurance is not like a water faucet that can be turned on and off, unfortunately. I wish it were that simple.
