I'm starting up my company and my drivers are asking me for rider forms. I don't know what these are or what they are for. I would like some help on locating one so that i understand what it is that my drivers are asking me for. thank you very much for your help in this matter. Pam,
Congrats on the new company. The "rider form" is a permission slip from the motor carrier (you) to have passengers. Many of the large trucking companies provide a "rider policy" for their drivers.
But, let me caution you, before you do this, check with your insurance carrier. Many insurance companies do not allow passengers when it comes to smaller trucking companies.
