Connie I have a question for you :)

Question
Hi Connie, you replyed to a question that I had in the newbie forum and I was wondering if you could expound a little on the subject.
My question was regarding the "Has your drivers license ever been suspended or revoked" on all driver apps.
The reason I'm concerned about it is I'm making a big decision to go to driving school etc. change careers, Im currently a nurse and would be leaving a good state job.
My question is, is the reason this is on apps due to me getting insured by a trucking company's insurance? The reason I assume so is because they also ask this when you get insurance for your passenger auto. Would insurance rates go up if I had a suspended/revoked license 5-7 years ago due to unapaid traffic/parking tickets in a different state then the one I am residing in now? I eventually paid the tickets and had the suspension lifted.
As I stated previously I told a white lie to my personal auto insurance carrier and to the one I had before this one, both of them are the top 2 insurers in the U.S.A. Neither one has said anything regarding my previous suspension. So would it be correct to assume its not on my MVR ? If its not on my MVR I definetely dont want to put it on my trucking company apps. Anyways Im probably blowing this out of porportion.
Thanks

Answer
Check your MVR. Most states do not show anything after 7 years. Get a copy so you know if it is there. If it does not show up don't mention it. Make the insurance company prove or find out on their own about your suspension. Good Luck.

Answer
If you believe the suspensions are 5 to 7 years ago, I suggest you get a current copy of your MVR, so you can properly answer the question on the employment application or insurance application.
I caution you to be honest. If the question is "Has your license EVER been suspended or revoked?" the answer should be yes, then provide all the pertinent details.
If the questions is "Has your license been suspended or revoked in the past three year?" then the answere would be no,IF the suspension was prior to 3 years.
