Question
Hi Connie-
I'm new to the trucking industry. So new, I don't have a license or a truck yet. I am wanting to be an owner operator an lease back to a carrier for starters. As you probably have already sumised, I am as green as those fried tomatoes. Can you tell me what types of insurance I will need and a ballpark idea of the premiums. I'm not looking for exact quotes, just rough numbers so I can calculate my potetial profit. Thanks a bunch!

I admire your enthusiasm, but may have some bad news. No license at this time translates to no experience. Most insurance carriers require a minimum of 1 year driving similar equipment. I do not have an insurance company that would be willing to insure you as an owner-operator without prior experience.
May I suggest, getting your experience with a company like Schneider for a year or two before embarking on the owner-operator road?
But don't take my work, go to the Round Table and ask some of the veterans for their opinion.
Best of Luck,
Connie
Answer
Thanks Connie-
I appreceiate your honesty. These are all things that I don't know. I'll take your advice and see if anyone knows of a company that would take the risk. I'm sure I'll be in touch later.
