Question
I am new to this so forgive me if I am asking questions that should be common knowledge. I live in an area with a lot of oil drilling activity. There is a shortage of water truck drivers and so premium pay is being offered. I am interested in getting my CDL license and purchasing a truck. I am concerned that I would not be able to get insurance. I am looking for a career change after being behind a desk for 20 plus years. My driving record is clean with no tickets or accidents. Most of the driving would be off improved roads and I would be in a small geographic area.
Answer
Being a new CDL holder would indicate that you do not have any experience. That could create a problem with some companies. I do know of one company that may work for you, but there are a number of issues to be discussed.
