Question
I'm looking for a dashboard video cam, preferrably digital to mount on the dash of the truck, or anyplace where I can mount it easily without drilling holes. It would be used to take video of traffic around the auto plant that I make deliveries into. The shift change traffic is the most dangerous and craziest I have ever seen. The 4W drivers (almost everyone) arriving and leaving for work during shift change in their personal vehicles will do whatever it takes at any cost to prevent from being inconveniened by a truck. There have been many near catastrophic incidents where the truck drivers would report them, but there are usually no witnesses. I have talked about putting cams on the dash, and recently when I started driving again, I looked into the police type videos. However, the places that sell police videos refuse to sell to the public, and I imagine they are too expensive anyway. I want one that will record for at least 6 hours, but I haven't been able to find one that good. This is probably nothing new to a lot of us, but If there is an accident, I want a reliable witness to back me up because it's not a matter of "if it happens", it's a matter of "when it happens". Any ideas? So far, I have looked at various reputable brands of digital mini camcorders that have image stabilization. They cost around $700-$1000, but they record for only an hour. They are compact and very easy to use. Any ideas?
Erik.
Answer
Have you looked into companies that supply surveilance equipment? Maybe they might have something.

Answer
If you have any luck in finding the right equipment, could you pass on the information. I'm having the same impatient 4 wheelers darting out and around me at college stops while backing up. its just a matter of time before an accident will happen.
