Question
Just a question for ya Connie. I am 26 years old, have a valid NC CDL and was wondering what it would cost to get insurance for an older truck say 95-99. I have had my CDL since Oct of 2003, 1 ticket (Traffic Device Elyria, Ohio) and have driven tractor trailers in the Air Force for 5 years prior to getting my CDL.
I was just wondering a ballpark figure on what I should expect to pay if I had my own authority. The whole thing.
Any more questins you may have I will fill you in. I don't know what information you may need from me.
Thanks,This is USAF 2T2 and I approve this message.
Answer
The big word here is "IF"....
If you can document your Military trucking experience as your full-time job...
If the insurance company will count the Military experience rather than only your 16 months...
If you plan to run unlimited radius with flatbed, reefer or dry van type freight...
Then you can budget about $5,000 - 6,000 for Liaibility, about 4 - 5% per $100 of value for the Physical Damage and $1000 - 2500 for $100,000 Cargo (depending on the commodities hauled).
Hope this helps. If you need more information or care to discuss your situation futher, please feel free to call me personally at 800-933-7911.
