Insurance company audit

Question
I got a letter in the mail the other day from a company it said that my insurance company hired them to do a safety audit is this common or are they just looking for a reason to cancel my policy. I am a local owner operator i do not go outside my 300 mile radius no moving violations I have no out of service from inspections my last ticket was about six years ago it was for no seatbelt.
I have had a CHP terminal inspection in july 04 i have had 2 scale inspections this year i have passed all of them.
I do have the need to go across the state lines into oregon and nevada all still whithin 300 mile radius cannot get the insurance company to file my insurance forms for my mc number.
any advice!!!

Answer
These are becoming more predominant. As long as you operate as you stated you would when you bought the insurance, you shouldn't have a problem. They are not looking to cancel you, they just want to be sure that the exposure they insured it in fact just that and nothing more.

Answer
I was just nervous thinking I should maybe start looking for a different carrier i will sit tight.
thank you,
