Is it safe?

Question
My name is Fred Stocker and I have some questions for you. I have been off of work for about 3 months due to a sprain in my lower back. I am a driver and trainer for Werner Enterprises. My left leg goes numb after sitting for a short time (15-20 minutes) I have been released to go back to work after Werner sent a letter to my Doctor saying that they would not pay for any more Doctor visits. I do not feel safe in operating a semi with this leg going numb. I am also in a great deal of pain in my lower back. I have pain pills which cause me to be drowsy. I don't feel safe driving while taking these pills but yet I don't want to be in pain. What do I do?
Please help me, I am at a loss here, I don't want to drive when I may hurt someone. But I have to feed my family and pay the bills.
I hope you take this as serious as I do. This is a scary situation for me. I have 11 years truck driving experience and drive in all 48 continental states.
Thank You for your time.
