Fast heart rate

Question
I don't know if anyone has any info. to help but here it goes. 14 years ago I drove for a short time for SNI. was recruted by a local co. (Electric not driving), I am now due to be "downsized" Dec. 1st and would like to go back to driving. Now the problem is 2 things one I no longer have my CDL and 2 years ago found out I have a birth defect in my heart called WPW that causes a fast heart rate. I am scheduled in Oct. for surgery to eliminate this problem but don't now if I can pass a DOT physical or the co. doctors with this history.
Does anyone have any advise?

Answer
the proceedure used to treat tis condition is considered to be highly effective. of course, you want to make sure that you have an experienced doctor working under the hood. my understanding is that once the proceedure has been done and deemed successful...the patient is considered "cured".
the thing with WPW is that you have an extra part (so to speak). this extra part causes the problem. stop the extra part from working and everything works together as it should without interference

Answer
Just a follow up, I'm going for my second ablation attempt in November at OSU heart center. The doc. said I will have to wait 6 months before I can pass the dot physical. So I guess I have plenty of time to look around to find the right co. to start back with.
