Question
In honor of the great post Nurse Red did on chest pain, I am going to poise this trivia question and see who can get it right.
WHICH MAMMAL HAS THE LARGEST HEART?
Hint: think of what the heart has to do--it's function.AND THE SECOND PART OF THE QUESTION--WHY DOES THIS MAMMAL HAVE SUCH A LARGE HEART?
Answer
? A Giraffe? Hell of a climb to get blood to that brain.
Answer
Too cool! The giraffe's heart weighs 25 pounds and the walls of its heart are two inches thick! The dinosaur, Brantasaurus, (spelling??) had one major heart and eight smaller hearts in its neck to pump blood to its head.
The giraffe, by the way, also has the largest eyes of any mammal. Now that's just the kind of information to make your day. Thanks psycho.
