Answer
Loss of interest in things usually enjoyed.
Loss of appetite or overeating.
Increased use of drugs and/or alcohol.
Sleeping more than usual, to excess usually.
Irrational mood swings.
Withdrawal from friends and family.
There are others, but these are the most specific and the easiest to spot.
Don't assume that if a person has one of these symptoms that they are depressed, there is usually a combination of two or more that are used to diagnose clinical depression.
