Question
I have been thinking about going into trucking but first have a question about the physical. A few months ago I had a table saw injury to my left hand. I badly cut three fingers but still have them all(thank God). I can still use my hand and make a fist, not quite as tight as my other hand. I drive just as good with my left as my right. The only thing is, I don't have complete feeling in three of my fingers, and my dexterity is not as good. Could this keep me from passing my physical and getting my cdl? Thanks.
Answer
Yes it could. But usually it's the gripping action that is of the most concern.
Have you done any physical therapy to increse the grip and dexterity? It may take a year or more for some of the feeling to return, sometimes it never does.
Keeping you safe, healthy and on the road.
