Question
Getting the flu is never good but for some reason this year here in Michigan is been especially nasty. They have in some towns ran out of the flu vaccine! Schools are closing as more and more of the children get sick.
Here are some measures we can do to protect ourselves and our children.
Washing hands can decease the chances of spreading a virus.
Using a light bleach/water solution or disinfecting spray on phones, computor mouse, door handles, bathroom and kitchen fixtures, just about any place you can think of that the flu virus can be spread too.
If you or your child get the flu, above all take care of yourself and do NOT go out and spread the germs to others. Keep the kiddies home,it seems kids are being hit hard this year
I am sure Nurse Red can offer more advice on what we can do to protect ourselves and our loved ones.

Answer
Knocking on wood as I type this...
I have not had the Flu in years...
Last time I had it I could barely move for 2 weeks...thought I would never get over it..
Going for a shot at the end of the week...
But the shot does not prevent certain strains of the Flu..
I would hate to get it this season..

Answer
Earlier in the season. I will find it and send it back to the top.
The flu strain that is hard hitting this year is the FIJIAN strain of the flu, it is a deriviative of the PANAMA strain. This year's formulary does include the Panama strain so there is SOME protection against the new one, but it is NOT as effective as if it had been included in the original formulary.
Good tips for aviding the flu, just hope everyone practices this.
Keeping you safe, healthy and on the road.

Even though it is now supposed to be spring and germs and bacteria should be on their way out, there are plenty of people here in in our part of WV who are suffering with bronchitis and/or sinus infections. I am one of those people. My husband Fenner and I are market reps for a company that makes air purifiers. The ozonation contained not only kills odors (pets, tobacco, food, etc.) but also acts as a bactericide, viricide and fungicide. My husband used to get bronchtis every year before we got our air purifier. Our company's vehicle purifier (Peak) runs off a vehicle's cigarette lighter and can also operate off 110. The great thing about our company is their motto - "try it before you buy it". Yep, that's right-we'll ship you a machine to try free of charge for at least one week. Also of interest is a product our company sells called Invisible Gloves. You simply rub it all over your hands; it lasts for four hours or four washings. It keeps bacteria and germs from sticking to your hands and being transmitted to your eyes, nose, mouth. It rubs in right away and is not sticky. We can either send you literature or ship you a machine. Just e-mail us (aida31@juno.com) or call us at 304-947-5675. God bless, Gemini Girl
