Question
This is a two part question.
1) I am prescribed Neurontin for anxiety, and it works well, and I have no side effects. I can get a note from my doctor stating that I can take this drug and still operate a CMV. Do you know of any reason that I would have trouble finding a job while taking this med?
2) What is a good option for those of us that sometimes have trouble sleeping? If there is too much ambient noise, I have a tough time falling asleep, and earplugs don't work for me. If I'm sitting in a loud truck stop and I REALLY need 8 hours of solid sleep, would I have any problems if I, on rare occasions, were to take Tylenol Cold or Benadryl or something of that nature? How about Melatonin? Is there any rule stating that these substances aren't allowed in a CMV? Will any of these substances show up on a drug screening as a false positive? What is the best option for someone who needs a good night's sleep?
Thanks
Answer
Some carriers will not accept you with anxiety disorder at all. Some will.
Have you tried the nosie machines for sleep? The waterfall, rain, ocean sounds to drown out the ambient noise? I would not suggest the use of meds for sleep, especially while on the road.
Keeping you safe, healthy and on the road.
