Hi Nurse Red..this is a great service you provide, thanks. I'm thinking of going OTR teaming with my hubby. I have pain from old injuries which has become arthritic and find I get complete relief without side effects with Bextra, 20mg 2x's a day..will this medication or the arthritis be a problem to me when I go for my medical exam...BTW my doctor does the exams for drivers in this area.

BTW, Have you traveled a good bit with hubby? Just wondering if traveling so much might aggravate your discomfort.

Took me a bit to track down info as it is one of the newer meds being used for treatment of arthritis.
This medication should not affect your ability to safefly operate a CMV. Nor will it show positive on a drug screen.
You may want to get a statement from your physician regarding your condition however. He/She needs to state that they are aware of the job responsibilities of a truck driver and that the medication nor the diagnosis will interfere with your ability to do the job.
You will need to take a copy of this when you go to the Dr. for the DOT exam.
