Question
Nurse Red,
I'm a week out of starting school. During my DOT physical last week, the doc thought she felt a bulge during the hernia exam. She said it was probably nothing, but that if I had any abdominal pain to have it looked at.
Well, I was woke up this a.m. with just that. It hurt to stand, but after a few minutes the pain went away.
At this point, I'm really worried about this screwing up school (starts April 2). I've already quit my job, and don't have health insurance to cover surgery. Any chance I can gut it out through school and OJT with a company til I get medical benefits??
I realize probably not... but I'm grasping at straws here. I imagine that any recovery time from surgery would keep me out of my class (no refunds either). I've got my bills covered unitl I would start making training pay... any delays would really mess me up.
Thanks for any suggestions you could offer.

I beleive most drug stores carry them.
It is a support worn for MILD hernias and may help for now.
DO NOT do any heavy lifting and by all means....If it gets worse YOU MUST GET MEDICAL ATTENTION! Believe it or not, some hernias can become life threatening problems.
